WHAT ABOUT THE AUTHOR

!! What about the author !!

I am Manuele Martinelli, a Chemist by training with a Ph.D. in Structural Biology, earned at CERM (Magnetic Resonance Center) of the University of Florence.

Over the past 15 years, I have worked as a Senior Scientist and R&D leader in the protein/antibody science field for major pharmaceutical companies—such as Novartis Vaccines and GSK—as well as innovative start-ups like Molteni Therapeutics, Checkmab and Menarini Silicon Biosystems.

For the last 15 years, I have also had the privilege of mentoring numerous Ph.D. and Master’s degree students.

I created ProteoCool to share the tips and the ‘cool’ protein protocols I’ve accumulated during this journey. Whether you’re a newbie looking to learn the basic concepts or an expert wanting to avoid repeating my mistakes, my goal is to provide practical insights that help you.

A Final Tip: Travel, Travel, Travel!

As you can see in the photo below, over the last decade I’ve had the opportunity to travel to several developed and developing countries.

I deeply enjoy traveling because it puts you in direct contact with the real world, opening your mind to new cultures and perspectives, and making you more receptive to listening to and discussing different points of view.

This is not only essential for growing as a human being, but it is just as crucial for becoming a better scientist!
